Experience a Maine Adventure

Dogsledding

MUSHING 101

Dreaming of huskies?

You can ride and even drive the dogsled on our privately groomed trails this winter for just $250 for up to 4 people for an afternoon or evening run. Your adventure begins with a lesson on Dogsledding – information about the dogs, the equipment and commands, and what to expect on the trail. You will have the opportunity to harness the dogs and bring them to the line. After a brief ride on the dogsled with Marion or Shannon driving, you will have a chance to drive! Even young children are often able to drive standing in front of Marion or Shannon on the runners and many are even able to do it alone before the afternoon is over (depending on the child’s weight, experience and trail conditions).

Need more time on the trail, for $750 you can rent a cabin for the weekend and go on 2 runs!

Most of our dogs were born at the Accidental Kennel here at the lodge. They are handled by children and adults from the time they are just days old.  We work very hard to provide a safe environment for people of all ages to learn about our dogs as well as ride and even drive the dogsled.
